Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Backend & Search Specialist)

Are you a master of the search engine and a veteran of the big data landscape? Janus Soft is looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with a deep specialization in backend middleware and search optimization. In this role, you will be the primary architect for our mission-critical data indexing and retrieval services, ensuring that massive datasets are queried with lightning speed and precision. Supporting an elite backend team, you will build the "connective tissue" of our architecture, transforming raw big data into actionable intelligence for the IC.

Mandatory Skills

• Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (Required).

• Search Engine Expertise: 3+ years of Intermediate to Expert experience in Solr or Elasticsearch, specifically:

  • Executing schema updates and managing index configurations.

  • Advanced knowledge of Lucene queries.

  • Deep understanding of Solr/Elastic sharding mechanics.

  • Hands-on performance tuning and query optimization for high-scale environments.

• Big Data Ecosystem: Minimum 3 years of experience in a big data environment utilizing at least two of the following: Hadoop, PySpark, Spark, or HBase.

• Core Java Mastery: 5+ years of hands-on back-end Java development (Note: Focus is on core Java/Middleware, not JavaScript or standalone Spring Boot). Experience must include rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and production deployments.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.

Desired Skills

• Cloud Infrastructure: Demonstrated experience utilizing various AWS services to support application backends.

• Agile Workflow: Proficiency with Jira for task management and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.

• Full Stack Flexibility: While focused on the backend, an understanding of how middleware interacts with the broader system stack is a plus.
